Altamaha River

2-5 days on the Altamaha River

The Altamaha River was named one of the 75 “Last Great Places” in the world by The Nature Conservancy in 1991. It is also the largest river in Georgia and home to many threatened and endangered species. Our multi-day tours on the Altamaha include navigating the diverse and winding course of the Altamaha through cypress swamps, indian middens, old rice canals, abundant wildlife, sweeping views, and the possibility of a transition to ocean beaches. Days consist of kayaking river miles, camping along the way, and short hikes when possible. Starts at $295.00
